The Jewish Community For Atlanta’s Young Adults
What is Young Jewish Professionals of Atlanta?
Dear visitor, if you have landed on this page, it is because you are interested in learning more about Jewish young adults in Atlanta, and for that alone I want to say thank you.
Each one of us seeks connection, relationships, and meaning at every stage in life.
Growing up we are surrounded by Jewish communities providing those needs; Sunday school, Hillel, Chabad on campus, AEPi, and many other places where we can express our Judaism in a way that is meaningful. Once people marry and have kids the local Chabad House or synagogue becomes their community where they can experience their Jewish life and values.
But, what about young adults - the in-between college and marriage stage?
Young adults are done with school and not yet part of an active Jewish community.
How are we ensuring that the young adults in our community have the connections, relationships, and meaning that they need for this crucial stage of life?
A stage of life where they decide whom they will marry, if they are going to continue their Jewish connection into adult-hood, and what values will be a priority for them in their life ahead.
This is the cross-roads young adults are at.
It is a potential breaking point which also means it is an amazing opportunity!
An opportunity to build a strong proud young adult community, where the conversations surround Jewish values and priorities, giving back to the community, and thinking bigger than me, here, and now.
In 2020, in the midst of the pandemic, together with my wife Shelbelle we started directing YJP - Young Jewish Professionals of Atlanta. As we immersed ourselves in this work, the need for this community became more evident than ever, and thank G-d we’ve been able to see firsthand the impact on the lives of young adults.
Through Torah Study on Wednesday, First Friday Shabbat dinner, mega Chanukah parties, one-on-one consultation, women's circle, text based study, monthly giving program, and Shabbat meals at the Rabbi’s house (where the magic happens) we are creating this young adult Jewish community!
This past year we welcomed over 600 young adults to the many YJP programs!
This is why I want to meet with you and talk about ways we, you and I, can partner to build and strengthen this community so that young adults will have the connection, relationships, and meaning that they are seeking.
The desire for connection is strong and there is a vacuum that will be filled. This is our opportunity to ensure that that vacuum is filled with Jewish connection.
We must act now in order to ensure a strong and vibrant young adult community.
Become our partner! The opportunity is now, the opportunity is yours!
Let’s shape the present and future of Atlanta!

"If you are Jewish, 20-30ish, and recently moved to Atlanta for work or school, I highly recommend you go to YJP events. They are the biggest young professional community in the city and you will meet so many cool people new to Atlanta just like you. I was a Jew who didn’t really hang out with Jews in high school/college so I lived here 2 years before going to their events. It was the best decision I made since I moved. Thank you YJP!"
